In a detached house built between 1979 and 1980 by the family of Ville Flyktman from Sarkola, Finland, Taloturva carried out the following work renovation of the heating network . The renovation included the replacement of both the heating piping and the radiators. The family moved into the house 13 years ago. The heating pipework or radiators had not been replaced before they moved in, but were all original and installed when the house was built. The piping was hidden under the floor.
– The old plumbing and radiators work, and I hadn’t thought about renovating it before. Then I got a couple of quotes for renovating the heating network and I thought if I could replace the pipework anyway, so that there wouldn’t be any leaks under the floor. And if you did it now, you wouldn’t necessarily have to do it again in your lifetime, Ville recalls.
Taloturva was chosen because of the timing and the client’s ability to influence the work. Ville himself was able to influence the dates, the price and other aspects of the offer.
Two men, three days
The renovation itself took about three days and two men worked on it. According to Ville, the work went well and did not affect the family’s life in any way.
– I don’t remember once even seeing a working man. They worked during the day while I was away from home on my own business. In the evening, you could just see where the pipes had appeared during the day. The traces of the work had been well cleaned up. I don’t think the water was broken once when we were at home. So there was no disturbance, Ville says.
“House security did a neat job”
The piping was pulled from under the floors to run as surface water to the walls and roof. This prevents unexpected leaks under floor surfaces and possible water damage.
– We have been pleased with the outcome. The building security did a neat job, and we don’t mind at all, even though the pipes are now visible. There have been no leaks since the renovation. There has been plenty of heat, no need to freeze. So everything went very well, Ville sums up.
Small acts of kindness for the whole family
At some point during the renovation, the raffle organised by the family’s children at school to raise money for the school trip was also mentioned. More prizes were needed for the raffle, and Taloturva wanted to contribute by providing a few different products, such as pens, caps and more, as raffle prizes.
– The raffle prizes we received made both the children and us feel good. Even though it wasn’t a very big deal, it was important to us,” Ville says.
“It worked as it should”
Overall, Ville had a good impression of the work of Taloturva and has nothing to complain about.
– It worked like it was supposed to. I can recommend Taloturva – if you are considering renovating your heating network, you should ask them for a quote!
