Aaro Kortesmaa from Tampere works as a lorry driver. Aaro’s home is a 1950s frontline house with original, cast-iron sewer pipes before the sewer renovation.
– The sewer pipes had not been done anything to them, they were in perfect original condition,” says Aaro.
– In previous repairs, cracks were found in the sewer pipes at certain points. When the offer for a sewer renovation using the diving method was made, I took it. It would take some of the worry and risk out of it by taking it off your feet,” Aaro recalls.
Easy and quick soaking was an easy option
One of the biggest factors in the implementation of the sewer renovation was the way it was carried out. For Aaro, it was important not to break surfaces. In the case of immersion, sewer renovation would require only minor demolition and less effort than renovation using the traditional method.
– The way things worked out was that a couple of installers arrived on Monday morning as agreed. We looked with them to see what kind of target this is and what needs to be done. Once they had gone through the line and agreed on the systems, I gave them the key and went to work,” Aaro says.
– The project lasted five days in total. The fitters worked mainly from 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 or 5.00 p.m. Personally, I always went in the evening to see how things were going. I was informed of any changes so that I could keep up with them,” he says.
Professional installers have a solution for every situation
During the renovation, there were challenges with some pipe penetrations. Whenever something had to be done differently from the original plan, Aaro was asked for approval by the installers. – I myself was always on the spot to accept the proposal made by the installers. Everything was quite easy to solve, and at no point did I have any problems myself. The professional installers had a solution for every situation, Aaro praises.
– All places were protected really well. The guys did their job with a smart attitude and service. I am very satisfied with this service. This was a kind of turnkey package. I didn’t have to worry too much, it all came together on its own,” he sums up.
