“Now we have certainty”
Julia and Olli live in Hyvinkää with their three children. When a private house built in 1956 was in need of a sewer renovation, the contractor chosen was Taloturva (formerly LVIturva). It was still possible to run a family’s everyday life even in the middle of the renovation.
The family has been living in their current home for a couple of years. The concrete main drain in the house had begun to deteriorate over time, so it was decided to extend its life before any damage could occur. The building’s drains were filmed by security staff, and the condition of the drains was clear from the video footage. The choice of sewer renovation was influenced not only by the price of the service, but also by the recommendations of other customers.
– We decided on Taloturva largely based on the experience of a colleague of Olli’s, Julia says.
The progress of the renovation was fully communicated
– The renovation lasted four days, and I lived here with our first-grader during that time. The building security provided us with a dry toilet, and of course we were not allowed to put the water down the drain, but we could take it from the tap,” Olli recalls.
When the workers went home after the renovation days, Olli was mostly still at work and a first-grader at school. At the end of each day of renovation, Taloturva staff would call Olli to report on the progress of the renovation. That way, every night you knew where the next day would start.
– They had a van-looking car in the yard, where they were doing all the more technical prep work and cutting the drainage sockets. They came in with the finished goods and installed them in the drains,” Julia says.
The sewer will be in good condition for decades to come
The family is happy that after the renovation they have the certainty that the pipes are currently in good condition. They will also last for decades to come.
