The heating network in Aulikki and Pertti Nummenpää’s detached house was in need of renovation. With the introduction of geothermal heating, a slight increase in heating capacity was also required. To renovate the original heating network, a colleague recommended a company called Taloturva.
Aulik and Perti’s detached house was completed in Rimmilä in 1978. As Aulikki says, the house was built from scratch – even the trees are from the couple’s own forest. Over the years, the house has undergone a renovation of the domestic hot water system and now it was time to renovate the heating network.
– The idea was that when they both got older, we wanted to get everything in order. We had water damage on the domestic water side, which was replaced with the damage. Now there was a fear that the heating pipes under the cement would be damaged,” Aulikki explains the reasons for the renovation.
Reliability and workmanship were convincing
The Nummenparts got to know Taloturva through a colleague of Aulik’s, whose home was being renovated by Taloturva. When the Nummenpäät visited the renovation and saw the company’s approach, they decided to have their own heating network renovated by Taloturva.
– The final touch to the decision was a renovation at a colleague’s house. We went to see it when they were renovating. “We thought, ‘How wonderful, how well this is being done,'” Aulikki recalls.
– We were impressed by the reliability, the cleanliness and the work that had been done. It looked so good in every way that it was decided to choose Taloturva to do the renovation for us as well.
“Even though we were living in the middle of a renovation, this one didn’t look like a renovation!”
According to Aulik, the renovation, which took about a week, went smoothly for the residents. With the renovation, new heating piping is visible and the number of radiators has been increased.
The couple should thank the installer from Taloturva, who had a ready-made vision of how the new pipes should be placed.
– The installer had a really good handle on how to do it wisely and where the pipes should go. We could hide them behind kitchen furniture, for example. He did a great job.
– Even though we were living here in the middle of renovation, it didn’t look like renovation, and renovation wasn’t a hassle for us. Quite the opposite – the fitter was a social person, so we had company here in the country,” Aulikki laughs.
There’s plenty of warmth now, even in the hard frosts
Aulikki and Pertti noticed the difference in heating efficiency immediately after the renovation. Thanks to the heat pipes running along the surface and the added radiators, there is enough heat even in the coldest temperatures.
– Immediately after the renovation, there were severe frosts and plenty of heat! You could tell the difference right away, Aulikki says.
Satisfied with the end result, the Nummenpäät have recommended the services of Taloturva to their friends. The couple was particularly pleased with the careful work done by Taloturva and the inspections carried out at the end of the renovation.
– Everything was done carefully, and nowhere was it corrected! Sometimes we have had to complain about the renovation, but there was nothing to complain about here,” Aulikki says.
– At the end of the renovation, the installer explained and guided the operation of the equipment. A few months later, the building security company came back to check that everything was working. Everything was explained to us patiently and in a language that we understood.
