Ritva and Jarmo Mäkiö had their 1982 detached house renovated. in their family house. Taloturva was chosen as the contractor for the renovation, with whom the price was agreed. The couple were particularly impressed by Taloturva’s good attitude towards its customers.
The Mäkios bought the detached house they live in in 2007. Soon afterwards, the first renovations began, and there have been several over the years. This time it was the turn of old heating pipes and radiators.
– The old pipes ran between the walls and the radiators were old and impractical. The radiator in the living room was the whole length of the wall, and the radiator in the hallway was not working at all. Even the pipes were so clogged that the water could no longer circulate in the radiators, Ritva explains the renovation.
“The renovation went terribly smoothly!”
During the renovation, all ten radiators were replaced with new and more practical ones, and the pipes were moved to run on the surface of the structures. Special praise goes to the installer of Taloturva, who was able to keep Ritva’s everyday life running smoothly in the middle of a major renovation.
– I myself use a wheelchair to get around. Sami really took this into account and made sure that no matter how much stuff I had, I could always move around. He also cleaned up really well, which is a really big deal because I can’t do the cleaning myself,” Ritva says.
“The building security checked that everything was in order”
The Mäkiis had a good impression of the work of Tommi Parhiala, the salesman from Taloturva, and Sami, the installer. During the renovation, a relationship of trust developed between the couple and the installer, which allowed the Mäkios to leave their house in Sam’s hands to take care of their own affairs.
– I am terribly pleased with the way Tommi and Sami handled things! Tommi came here towards the end of the renovation to check that everything was in order. They made sure that work was not left unfinished, but completed.
-The home security staff are smart guys. We had complete confidence in Sam. One day we were completely away from home, but we had the sure feeling that the house would be able to stand, Ritva sums up.
Lower electricity consumption and higher heating efficiency
Ritva and Jarmo are happy with the final result of the renovation. The electrically heated water circuit heating now works as it should, keeping the house warmer and reducing electricity consumption.
– The old pipes were completely black inside. They were probably so blocked that the water was no longer circulating in the radiators and pipes. In the new radiators, the thermostats work and the settings are correct.
– All in all, the renovation left us with a very good feeling,” Ritva concludes.
