Pipe renovation even faster than estimated

Jarno Heikkilä from Valkeakoski commissioned a plumbing renovation with Taloturva in late 2013.

“The domestic water piping in our house, built in the 70s, was getting quite old and we were in clear need of renovation. In fact, we had been thinking about a pipe repair for some time.” Jarno explains the background to the renovation. “Talourva was contacted and a representative visited our home to look at the need and requirements and to calculate the price,” he continues.

“The appetite grew while eating and doing a major renovation at the same time. We had already considered replacing the hot water heater in the house.” In addition, the renovation of the domestic water piping included replacing the water fixtures and fixing a water post to the wall of the house.

The price of the renovation dropped from the original

As the work progressed, the estimated amount of work was unexpectedly reduced and in the end the renovation price was lower than the offer.

“The workload dropped as the renovation progressed for two reasons and that’s why I also demanded a price reduction for the renovation,” Jarno recalls.

“First of all, a little more time and money was set aside to move the old hot water heater, as we thought it would be difficult to move it. To everyone’s surprise, the heater fit out of the existing door and took only a day to install.”

“In addition, the original idea was that the piping in the fireplace room, which was surface-drawn, would be encased. When we looked at the work, the finish looked very tidy without the encapsulation, so we decided to leave it out. As the cost of materials and the amount of work went down, I wanted the price to go down as well,” he continues.

The pricing was reviewed after the renovation was completed and a mutually satisfactory outcome was reached. “Overall, my price complaint was handled smoothly and the customer service was excellent again.” Jarno concludes.

Fast and professional renovation

“The renovation was completed ahead of schedule, originally scheduled to start around Independence Day, but due to a cancellation we were able to start the renovation in early November.” Jarno says.

“The fast schedule also contributed to the fact that we chose Taloturva as the contractor and did not start competing with different operators. We wanted to get this compulsory renovation out of the way quickly,” he recalls.

The entire renovation was also completed very quickly; the plumbing work started on Monday and was finished by midday on Wednesday.

“There is no knocking on the nose when it comes to quality of work. The installation was professional and the workmanship was very neat. The installer was very helpful and friendly.”

The customer service was also of high quality from start to finish and the complaint about the price was also handled well. Nothing was left to be desired and Jarno is very happy with the overall project.
