Taloturva has made a total of three different renovations to the home of the Suominen family in Jyväskylä. The first step was to heat network renovation and then at the same timedomestic water and sewerage renovation . After the first renovation, Ville and Mari did not think of anyone else but Taloturva to carry out the next renovations.
Ville and Mari Suominen and their two children live in a detached house built in 1963 in Jyväskylä, where they moved about 17 years ago. Over the years, the home has been renovated in some way almost every year. A couple of years ago, the house was renovated with a heating network. When the time came to renovate the water and sewage systems, the choice of contractor was clear.
The first heating network renovation involved, among other things, replacing the house’s radiators and installing an air-to-water heat pump purchased by the family to replace the previous oil heating system.

Renovations on residents’ terms
Before the renovations, all the plumbing in the house was original. Initially, the plan was not even to renovate the drains, but just to install underfloor heating in one room. However, a visit by the building security team and the inspection of the pipes revealed a few suspicious points in the sewer pipes. On closer inspection, it was found that there was a bigger problem at one point that needed fixing.
– Even though there had been some smells from the drains, we hadn’t been able to connect it to anything bigger,” Mari recalls.

The water was always used at least in the warm garage next to the house. The quality of the work has also been good, according to Mari and Ville.
– We were not affected by the renovations at all. Ville and I were working during the day, some of the children were at home. The work was done on our terms, we live here and the boys will do their work on the side, Mari sums up.

All the renovations were also fast in terms of time, according to the family. The renovation of the heating network and domestic hot water pipes was carried out as surface repairs. The sewer renovation was carried out using the diving method. At the same time, the renovation of the water and sewerage systems took three days.
– Those renovations have been really fast, not weeks or months. When you pull it to the surface, it hasn’t taken weeks. All in all, it’s been really good.
The renovations that have been made have taken the worry of the house’s plumbing away from Ville and Mari. All the renovations have been completed to their expectations. They are also both willing to recommend Taloturva to their acquaintances, for example.
