Tarja and Jouni Mertanen live in a frontline house built in the 1950s in Loimaa. The couple have been slowly renovating and refurbishing the house. The most recent major renovation was a sewer renovation, which was carried out by Taloturva.
Tarja and Jouni Mertanen currently live in their detached house, just the two of them and their dog. The house is a three-storey frontline house from the 1950s. The sewer renovation was carried out from the middle floor downwards, as the couple had laid the sewer pipes themselves in connection with the building of the upstairs toilet.
– We have been renovating the house little by little and the sewer renovation was the last major renovation that was still to be done. The renovation of the hot water and heating network was carried out a couple of years earlier. They called the building security to come and photograph the drains. I said, “Come on in,” Jouni recalls.
Sewer blockage took four days
The drains had not shown any symptoms before the renovation, but the old age of the original pipes was a concern. The couple was convinced by Taloturva’s experience and the contract for the sewer renovation was signed. When the sewers were being inspected, it became clear that the renovation was indeed timely – according to Jouni, some of the pipes were already in a bit of a state of disrepair.
The sewer renovation was carried out by diving. The grafting took four days in total. Tarja and Jouni were at work during the day, and the renovation did not disturb them much. Only the toilet had to be done elsewhere.
– The renovation took a total of four days, as promised. The boys were professionals, they knew what they were doing,” Jouni says.
“House Security did its job professionally”
After the renovation was finished, Jouni says that the installers from Taloturva cleaned up well, and he and Tarja did not have to clean up after the renovation. Since the renovation, the drains have been working without any problems.
– The boys completed the renovation, as they should have done. The end result is excellent! Everything has worked well, Jouni says.
The sewer renovation also brought with it a sense of security. Before the renovation, the drains were Jouni and Tarja’s last concern about the house. Now the worry about the condition of the drains is gone.
– Now it’s safe to live in, knowing that the waste goes where it’s supposed to,” Jouni sums up.
– The work was done professionally and the implementation went well. The injection was completed in the time they promised. I can recommend them even to strangers!
